Any question about the late US KatanasI get lots of these questions, unfortunately this site is only about
the original (some would say "real") Katanas as designed by Hans
Muth & Jan Fellstrom of Target Design. I know nothing about the
later US Katanas but you might like to check out the following websites: Is there a Katana Mailing List ?There used to be but it seems to have gone belly up. Is there a Katana discussion group ?Yes, at Katana Central. Is there a Katana Owners Club ?Several, check out the links page. Where can I get spares ?All Katana parts are still available from Suzuki. Some have been
superceded, others are only available as complete units but you should
still be able to get anything via your local Suzuki dealer, even down to
the badges on the crank case covers. From what I can see CMS list most parts for all Katana models, visit the CMS motorcycle parts & accessories website Where can I get used spares ?There are many Salvage (breakers) yards on the web - check out the links page for lists or do a search for "used motorcycle spares" Where can I get a workshop manual ?Possibly the single most common question. Haynes manuals are widely available - try your local bike shop or direct from Haynes in the UK: http://www.haynes.co.uk/inc/viewbikemanual.asp?mt=0737. In the US do a search for Katana in the on-line catalog at White Horse Press. Suzuki also still list the OE workshop manual - try your local Suzuki dealer. Is there a parts catalogue available?I don’t know. Let me know if you do. Who sells aftermarket parts for Katanas ?In the UK (& Europe) try Demon Tweeks, MPS or M&P. If you know other good suppliers please e-mail me. Who still makes Katana exhausts ?Surprisingly, several manufacturers still list Katanas in their brochures. Here are some I'm aware of :- Harris (via M&P in the UK), Hindle, Eagle/Cobra (via Exactrep in the UK), Vance & Hines. Who sells seat units & bodywork ?I don't yet have a good answer for all of this but for fairings go to Airtech in the USA, if you know of others please send me an e-mail. Where can I find a model Katana ?Several Katana models are available from Tamiya, from a 1/12th scale 750 to a 1/6th scale 1100. These are widely available at your local hobby store. Doyusha also produce a 1/8th scale model which is a little harder to come by. All these models are available from HobbyLink Japan at good prices. Where can I buy or sell a Katana ?Again one of the best places is Katana Central, or you could try one of the many on-line sales centres some charge, some are free. Enter "Suzuki Katana for sale" in a good search engine to find a bike to buy or "motorcycle sales" to find sales centres. Where can I find general information about my Katana ?Try the Katana Central website.
